PROGRESS

Through our High Impact PROGRESS Programs, we address critical social issues.

These innovative and technology integrated programs are scalable, resulting in sustainable development. Our current progress programs are as follows.

Teacher Progress

Teachers need both academic and pedagogic preparation to effectively engage students. Initial teacher training programs are often inadequate and they do not receive comprehensive preparation for classroom practice during their pre-service education. Ongoing professional development is also very crucial, but in-service training is often superficial and insufficient. It does not always address practical classroom needs. Insufficient teaching resources also hinder effective instruction. The Teacher Training Program is designed to address this issue.

Our Teacher Progress Program is designed comprehensively, through integration on modern techniques and technology to give existing and new teachers edge they need in becoming efficient and effective.

Skill Improvement

Teacher skills improvement training sessions are conducted in the 5 day workshop for the primary school subjects of Mathematics, Science, and English. For each workshop, 1 principal and a teacher each for the 3 subjects will be selected from 10 schools totaling 40 workshop attendees.

Pedagogy Training

Pedagogy Training will be included in the workshop, along with skill improvement sessions to improve student teacher engagement. This unique approach will guide teachers how to use local materials to create teaching aids and engage students by connecting everyday objects and environments to the learning experience.

Peer to Peer Learning

This is an important step in increasing the reach of the program. On average, there are 4 teachers who teach the same subject in 1 school. The 30 teachers will share their workshop-acquired skills with their peers and a total of 120 trained teachers will serve 7100 students (1:59).
